Nikki was on the bridge. The Marine Captain often takes the night shift. Autumn was on the Helm as the two military hounds joked about guns and even joked about their breast size or lack there is. Neither were looking at the viewer when the huge cube came into view.
The infamous Black Knights of Amleth Prime were in the vacinity. Autumn actually screamed, the cube filled the entire viewer. Nikki jumped to attention and sounded the Red Alert.
Nikki was on the COMM link, "the Borg!! The mother f***ing Borg!! Get up here."
John was laying in bed but not asleep. He jumped to his feet and literally ran to the bridge. He nearly busted into Laren who was also running.
Both arrived to hear the infamous Borg call sign...
"We are the Borg. We will add your biological distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is Futile."
John turned to Nikki, "Why didn't you warn us?"
Nikki was embarrassed and did not know how to respond. Autumn stood up, "They are starting to power their weapons."
John turned to Carver as he burst onto the bridge, "Get the hell out of here."
Carver pushed Autumn out of the way and turned the sovereign class vessel around and started to push for Garak 371.
John turned to Autumn, "Admiral Hunt informs me that modifications have been made to allow for transphasic weaponry. Is this correct?"
"Correct, yes, but untested.", Lt. Laree screamed. She was positively unnerved.
John turned to Nikki, "Get the marines to make the modifications. We need to be firing on the cube in mere moments."
Nikki ran from the bridge. This was her fault and she knew it.
"Autumn, get us ready. We have only one chance at this. We need to hurt them and hurt them bad.", John yelled.
"Laren, I am going to the torpedo launch bays. I need to verify this for myself. Make the call. Its in your hands.", John snapped and then ran off.
The looming cube was a horror for all to see in the viewer. Carver was flying the sovereign for all she was worth. They were barely staying ahead. The Borg kept repeating their credo...
"We are the Borg. We will add your biological distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is Futile."
Laren turned to Samantha, sitting at the Counsellor's Chair, "Take the communication helm and shut that damn message off."
=A= We have a transphasic modulation =A=
Marine Captain Elliott screamed from the torpedo bay.
Laren stood up, "Yes. Now lets do some damage."
Laren turned to Autumn, "Fire!!"
The Transphasic Torpedo ripped into the haul of the cube which suddenly stopped and held its position.
Laren smiled, "In Admiral Janeway, we trust."
Samantha turned to Laren, "They are sending out a distress signal in a bizarre frequency"
Laren turned to Sam, "Sammi, that is impossible, the Black Knights are a disconnect commune. The borg has no collective anymore. You must be reading it wrong."
Laren walked over to the console. She stepped back, white and in a state of shock. She stood there for a good couple of minutes...
